DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My carbs (BS32s, Id# 45400, 1980 GS 750ET) have seen the dip and are all reassembled. When I drilled and removed the little aluminum covers over the IIAS (Idle Air Adjustment Screws) I recorded where they were set from the factory.

Carb #1's IAAS was open 1.25 turns.
Carb #2's IAAS was open 1.75 turns.
Carb #3's IAAS was open 0.25 turns.
Carb #4's IAAS was open 1.00 turns.

I was just wondering if I should initially set them to where they were originally set, or should I start out with all of them open like maybe 1.25 turns. What do you carb guru's think?

NOT a carb guru...But the generall consensus is to set them 2 turns out. Some like 2.5 but I start with 2 and then fine tune from there...

DynoJet kits say to start at 1 turn then fine tune..........its O.K. to have them all set just a little different as you noted from factory adjustment.....however, I'm a little concerned about that one being only .25!!! Maybe you were off a little?

I'm with Josh here, 2 - 2.5 turn out. It's just a starting point, adjust them for the highest idle after everything is sorted out.

MY dynojet kit actually says 2.5 turns out to start. I dunno if its different per kit, but thats odd if yours says 1 turn out. Thats pretty lean...

I was thinking the same thing.......so I went to 2 and its idling weird now. When I twist the wic fast, it hangs and doesn't return to idle right away. My bike is going in to the shop in the next couple of days to see what's wrong with it.

It did run with 1 turn each......probably due to me being at 8000 feet!

Did you replace the intake boot O-rings?

No I didn't :o.........after reassembly I did the spray down the boots along the mounting flanges to check for leaks with WD40 and it didn't run up/down at all so I assumed that the O-rings aren't leaking by.......do you think the O-rings are bad and that is causing this problem?:(

Yeah, I was surprised at that one too, so I double checked it before taking the screw out.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. I guess I'll set them all the same and go from there.

Very likely.

I can send you a set if you want but I won't be where they are until probably the middle of next week.

They are on me, just PM your address and I'll send them out when I get back to NY. It will be probably two weeks before you get them though, in case you want to get them sooner.
