I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks alot. I wanted something different. I was looking at the V-Strom, but my local dealer never got one and I began looking around and found this. I went to the suzuki dealer today for an oil filter and signal lights for the GS... still no V-Strom! I'll hang on to the Harley as long as I am enjoying it. I still want to at least sit on the V-Strom to see how it feels.

ok today's ride to work was frustrating. my kid lent me his gixxer 1000 today, just for fun. i spent more time watching the speedometer than the road for one thing. my wrists started to get sore about halfway, and to top it off a harley caught up with me. i repeat- a harley caught up to me! that wouldn't ever happen on either of my gs's. it wouldn't be allowed. but i was so busy trying to keep it under 100 i didn't notice the full dressed harley in my rear view. by the time i did see him i had to turn and he continued on his big fat way. i'm trying to handle this with some amount of grace i guess. it's better than going out and doing something silly.. sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you.

I gotta' agree with this thread. There are unfortunately so many stuck up Harley douchbags in the woirld. Many of whome started out on a cheap beater bike, or metric cruiser. Many posers seem to gain the instant mentality as soon as they pay upwards of $18K + for a bike, that gives them the right to snub off all the other bikers in the world who didn't spend $18K on a bike. And this is the simple, pathetic truth. I really frown on jerkoff's like this. I even had "heated" words with a Harley only douchbag I had to ride with one time, as another buddy riding with us was on a Kawasaki Nomad... and the Harley douchbag kept "dissing" metric bikes...
I love my Harley, but it's JUST a bike, and nothing more...

Good point, it constantly amazes me how some Guys attitudes change the instant they become "Assimilated" into the HD clan. Guys who always wore gear quit. Guys who rode Japanese bikes for years suddenly diss them as Jap Crap even though in most cases the Japanese bike is far superior to the HD in every way. Another thing, I know you are on a Harley without the HD Hat, T shirt, Jacket, and window sticker on your truck telling me so.

This really hit home with me back around 1991. I had just sold my '82 fxrs Harley and had just finished restoring a 77 Kaw. 1000 ltd. All black and chrome frame and engine with smoothbore mics and a kerker and bright corvette yellow body work, I LOVED that bike. Went to one of my regular local watering holes and parked out front where I always had before. While I was takin off my helmet two Harleys pulled up. Guys I didn't know. One of them starts yellin at me that " You can't park that jap crap there! That's Harley parking only! Get that **** yellow p.o.s. out of the way!"
I just smiled and went inside. They found a different place to park and came in after a few minutes. The one with the mouth kept blathering about Jap crap parkin in front of the bar. I finally told him to shut up, that I'd been parkin bikes, both Harleys and metric in that spot for years and most people in the bar new that so he may as well give it a rest.

Just met a few HD's yesterday during a break on my ride yesterday. In spite of the fact that I was ATGATT and on a Hayabusa (they were in leather vests, bandanas "partial" helmets), they were all very nice. We chatted about riding and the locale for a few minutes and watched as one of the number "taught" a rookie how to ride around the parking lot.
Obviously we have different philophies about certain aspects of riding (what to ride, how to learn/ride, what to wear), but none of that mattered during our interaction.
As I rode off they waved, smiled and wished me a safe ride and I returned the sentiment.
It's the riders, not the ride. And like all things, some are good and some, well, ain't.
