I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I need help in figuring out how to mount the aircleaner/battery box/ fuse box back into the bike. I see how the air box fits back into the bike, but I can't figure out how to get the fuse box back on. I basically need pictures of a 1982 GS650G with the seat off/ side covers off to figure it out. Any help would be great.

Oh, I also have this metal piece that has three holes in it. It looks like it holds plugs from the wiring harnass.

I tried using bikebandit, no help...and my manual is awful.

Can anyone take pictures, I assume its the same set up over different years...

have you checked the micro-fiche?

I no, it is a little late, but maybe you should get a digital camera for taking pictures.

I've got these pictures from before I stripped my 650 Kat down.
If they don't help then I'll take some new ones.

Nice photo set Waltfen; when I put my ED back together I bought a spare frame with tail to use as a guide for how to put mine back together .

Digital cameras are great . :p

So are digital micrometers:D

Thanks, I think those will work. I was wondering how that damn bracket fit back on there!

One last question...

What do the blue wires go too that run along the top of the frame under the tank? There is one on each side of the frame.

In the 650G that thing with the three holes in it holds the connector for the signal generator, and the two plugs for the R/R unit. The only blue wire i can think of off hand is the neutral light. Don't know what there would be 2 of them for. Just blue, no tracer?

Maybe a PO added some wire or changed one.

Solid blue wire. The are located on the frame directly under the middle of the tank. They don't extend beyond the tank and are to short to go to the fuse box. Also, there are no wires for them to plug into except for the fuel gauge, except those obviously already have wires.

SOlid blue wire is your neutral light on MOST of the bikes. There will be another coming down from the gauges along the spine, sometimes in the loom but sometimes on its own..

I see the two wires, but both have male connections (the ones that fit into those long and skinny clear connectors).

Hrmmm... I have some 650G diagrams at home i think. I will look and see what I see...but Ive never seen more than one blue wire on a stock loom that i can recal...

Also, i am getting effing ****ed that i can't figure out the fuel hoses. Basscliffs thing is different because on my petcock it has three things. Two holes are where the fuel hoses push in (one on either side) Then there is a rear one that seems to be a vent line. I believe that one goes to the front of the #2 carb. The rear push in fuel hose seems to go to the back of the carb rack, but where does the forward facing one go too? Also, the long metal hose piece coming off the fuel sender unit thing opposite the petcock doesn't need a hose does it? If so what size is it?

Thanks

Ok...for some reason i cant see your pics because it keeps loading some damn Cat Chow advert and then taking me to pictures of cats....WTF you tryin to pull here??:D

I have that problem any time I am directed to Webshots.

Photobucket may not be perfect (or is that purr-fect? :D), but there don't seem to be any ads there.
