DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Back near the beginning of this thread Bruce was showing the VM29's he worked up for me. Red, of course!

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing them on the bike. Here they be!

Very tastefully done Tom, the red accents look fabulous! Luv the carbs!

Tom - I would paint the brake brackets red to match your calipers (I know that 1 is still black because of your problems.)

I painted mine black on both bikes now to match the calipers & it seems to fit in better rather than trying to match them to the fork leg.....

Dan :)

 Fabulous job once again Bruce! I still have not used the carb and color tune, waiting on a few parts from Bike Bandit for the front end. As soon as the forks are back on I can lower it off the center stand and install the exhaust. If you need it before I get to it let me know I will ship it back.

Again those carbs look fantastic! Still debating on my 1150's to have done.

Yes, he does do nice work. The best I've seen.

You can meet CARBMAN himself, and see these carbs too, at the upcomming Mt. Shasta Rally in August. You should try to join us. Here's the 4-1-1. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=136044

Bruce will be there signing autographs with VHT caliper paint. I'll be riding my GS1100E with these carbs. I might even let you touch them, if you wash your hands first!

Seriously dohc, we're coming down to the wire on the Rally. After 2 successful years at Yosemite we decided to move the event further north to attract you PNW road warriors. Several members from WA & OR are signed up. How 'bout you? Aug 27 - 31. All roads lead to Mt. Shasta!

I'll be the guy with the iron lung and the black nostril hair from breathing too much VHT. :-&

It would be an honor to meet the Great Renobruce and the rest of the wonderful people from GSR that make the ride. My bike on the other hand is still in repair and testing stages, still haven't even ridden it yet :(.
I do wish you and all the other riders a safe journey. Maybe next year.

Thx Dohc

PS: As my wife says, you can look, but NO touchin

If all your brass parts are in tact, all you need are new orings. You can get a full set for all 4 carbs from a member here...for about 16.00 www.cycleorings.com

And yes, they are painted. I don't remove the butterflies...no need to. I just mask everything that's not getting painted.

Sounds like you paid 1.00 for one oring? These are complete kits that have orings for the inlet valve, fuel tubes, float drain, pilot screw, etc. You won't find a more complete kit for less.

During restoration of my carbs all the plated parts looked like crap. A wire wheel makes them look good for a while but the rust will come back quickly. Bought a zinc plating kit from Caswell Plating and now the parts look like this.:) Painted carbs with fresh hardware...:)
