A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Wow! That is cool.

What are those tyres. They look like the tread comes all the way round to the rims (on standard rims?)

Look like Pirelli Sport Demons.

Skinny rim, may give it a crowning affect? :-k

Look like Pirelli Sport Demons.

Winner.....bike handles unbelievably well compared to the Dunlop 591's that were on it previously. High speed stability is like a rock, and turn-in is very predictable. I had a tough time (IIRC) finding the 18" Pirelli in a taller aspect size..I believe this is a 70(thus the look)...woulda' preferred an 80. I've got 3K, and the rear hasn't really gotten a flat spot yet, but i also do alot of non-highway riding too. Thanks!

solo suzuki,
I purchased this GS1000E in Sept 79 from NHRA Pro Stock Champion Frank Iaconna (sp?) with zero miles which he won at Summer Nationals at Englishtown NJ which suzuki was sponsoring. Who remembers the free Suzuki T. Vance T-shirts? I did most of the performance modifications in the 80's and it still has a lot of performance goodies from back then. I repainted it this last summer ala who knows what?

Too bad we didn't have the GS forum back then to compare carb notes.

now that's a beauty,
great bike with a unique pedigree
love the paint variation/tone
that's a keeper for sure

Claude, your two bikes are amongst the nicest to be found anywhere. If I have time over the winter I intend to repaint mine and submit it for BOM.

I don't believe I ever posted a new pic with the Hindle and new front end in this thread. The fender is now red, just no new photo.

thanks billy, and there's lots of them on here

good idea for the bom photo,
what do you have in mind for the new paintjob?

Jim,

Your GS1100 looks fantastic :). Now that you are almost done are you tempted to run at the local strip to see what she will do?

I was thinking more dyno. With roll on wheelies in 1st and 2nd (Bill says if he stabbed it it came up in 3rd as well) I'm not sure I can ride it to it's full potential :o.

It is plenty full regardless. :p

Yes, the Hindle had a 2" midpipe like the Yosh. When I get the bike cleaned up I'll post a new pic.

I had Reproduction Decals make me up a set that is very close to stock. So it will be white with blue pearl over the white only and the decals.
