DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks GK,I'm happy I went this way to.One thing I've noted about the red is in cloud or shade it seems quite dark,in the sun it just pops.

Yep, can see the difference in your second pic there Greg, nice! Clear coat should be quite awesome on top of that :)

I really had to repaint the MC.Regular Plasti-Coat wasn't cutting it.Got a rebiuld kit off eBay for a good price so I put that in to.

Added a brake pressure switch while I was at it.Added longer leads as the EF/S have really long front brake switch leads. Was painted with VHT caliper paint, should be better!

All bleed and feeling REAL hard!Should be right nice when I get her back on the road.Cut the banjo cover to make it fit over the new switch,it looks better now.

Converted the rear to a pressure switch as well.Got those off eBay as well.Looks much neater to IMHO.

Colour sanded and pinstriped, just need to clear:dancing:The gold stripes really set it off IMHO.

That looks SHARP!

Very nice touches there, should really turn some heads on the road.

Cheers - boingk

Thanks guys.Hoping to get all the 750 and 1000 bodywork cleared this weekend.Weather looks to be cooperating:pray:

So went to get some new hardener for clear I had left over from the yellow paint.Where I bought it had sent all the Nason stock to they're downtown store.Just great have to go there to get it.So we get down there and after a bit of a search the guy finds some.I need some reducer to so he give me a small can's worth.I ask "How much?".He says "Take it,we are dropping the stuff anyway and I want rid of it"."Thank you VERY much" we said to him.I get to use up stuff I've had hanging around and helped him to,a rewarding trip:dancing:

Thanks guys.Hoping to get all the 750 and 1000 bodywork cleared this weekend.Weather looks to be cooperating:pray:

Here in Comox, we have a forecast of sun and a temp of 25?C for at least a week. Hopefully it's not much different for you.

Yep basically the same forecast here, looks to be on for tomorrow.

That's too bad man. I know you said in another post that a better gun is out of the question, but have you tried an auction house or pawn shop? I've seen some good stuff up here on occasion, if you want I can keep a look out for you and let you know. I know a few people that head down your way quite regularly.:D

All sanded and the "patch" is in place, will clear again next weekend.Think it will go WAY better this time:pray:

Well that is MUCH better!!Good 6 good coats of 2K clear on.The gun worked pretty good.A good wet sand and polish it will look even better.Think I'll need to get a DA polisher. The soft clear of the yellow polished nicely by hand, this stuff's already WAY harder:clap:

Done sanding the clear coat.Had to use some 400 W&D on the real bad runs but for the most part I started with 1000,then 1500,then 2000.All wet of course. Then I tried this:

Interesting stuff, absolutely has to be used wet as it has some kind of lubricating agent in it.Acts pretty good as a cleaner to,after using it the bodywork was nice and clean.

Ready for polish. At $9 for a single 3 2/3X9" sheet it's more than a bit pricey but the wife had already bought it so I used it

Well it's now "official". We can't afford to get the 750 on the road this summer at all:( So it's time to tear it down, again.Means I can repolish the bits a LOT better than the first time.Frame desperately needs a repaint as well.Getting 2 cans of the appliance "epoxy" this time,1 can just don't cut it.Still debating whether to do it silver or go black this time. Will better showcase the nice new paint with a nicely cleaned up frame.Think I'm going to try to get the opposed piston 550 calipers to work to.Time to make lemonade:-\\\

http://bikeduc.blogspot.com/2013/06/suzuki-yoshimura-gs700-kevin-schwantz.html There was a story in the short lived Motorcyclist Retro mag on Kevin Schwants' gs 700es racebike. It had a black frame, which made its visual impact minimal, causing the eye to concentrate on the rest of the machine. It was quite cool, and ive said that if I ever take mine down to the frame (unlikely...) I would paint the frame black.

All the bits I've gotten done so far.

Not a paint job up to nvr2old standards but I'm not Larry either.I get that idea dorkburger but with the EF so little of the frame is visible think it actually needs to be accentuated. If it sounds like I'm redoing it silver you are probably right:D
