Repaint on GS1000G

I agree with everyone..looks great. I really enjoy watching people learn to paint. You jumped in, took proper steps, had a few setbacks probably, and now you have a nice finished product. Feels good, eh?

Decals are a bitch. I've used them in several restorations for people. They're always too thick, and to bend them around curves, on the front of the tank especially, is almost always a white knuckle experience. Even taking all the precautions, having the right tools, following all the directions, they still want to fold there it seems. I would much rather paint them. It's actually easier for me.

Setbacks is one word for it, even with the sidecovers and ducktail sanded back too bare plastic and a few litres of wax and grease remover the primer and paint bubbled from the blue that had leached into the plastic from the old decals. That was a long process.

Actually the folds ended up on the straight sections while applying the curves.

It's a Steve Special. He is pretty well known around Gold Coast.

Ok. Looks a lot like the seats that a guy John does up here in Brissy. He is also well known and been around for ages. He just did the seat on my GS650 Katana and it looks awesome.
