I never did find out why if I unplug the right coil connector and plug it in where the left coil is connected, then plug the left into where the right was I get no spark anywhere. The connectors are under the front of the tank. And the connectors will only plug in one way. I can only guess they are wired cylinder specific, the wires to run 1 & 4 will not work on 2 & 3. My problem was 2 & 3 would stop firing and then start again. It was suggested that I swap the coils to see if the problem would move to 1 & 4. But it would not start at all. So I pulled the spark plugs and found I had no spark anywhere.I switched the wire plugs from the coils to the wiring loom back and it started, running on all four. I,m just going to clean all electrical wire plugs and make sure they are tight. I,m not riding today anyway this awful Ca. weather, the temp has dipped down in the 40's And sprinkling rain off and on. ...
I'm not talking about spark plug leads from the coil to the plugs.
