I was wondering if there was anything special about it. I think I might be able to get it off of him cheap. LIke do some work on a weekend for him cheap

Hmm highly sought after you say? Well I started looking it up and low and behold I found some on craig'slist going for $2500. I think I know what my next project will be. Unfortunately I hate selling anything. Chances are I'll get it, chop it, make it my own and then have a liter bike to play with.... wait where was I going with this. Thats a good turn out

Tck Pray For My Bike!!!!
I got around to checking those valves today and needless to say I'm a little scared. Well first things first, turns out that the feeler gauges I got aren't small enough. The smallest they go is .06. Which is no good because all the clearances are smaller than that. Like WAY smaller than that. I think they're all gonna need to be reshimed . Which I was hoping wasn't gonna be the case. Well tomorrow I'm gonna pick up another set and I'll take another stab at it.
GRR and to top it off my carbs didn't come into today. The guy told me he was gonna second day air them to me. Oh well atleast they're coming USPS so I might get them tomorrow.
And on another note spraying clear on is hard. Doing the black went alright. The clear just plain out kicked my ass

speaking of shims.on the hondas its simple to adjust the valves.
so are all shims for a suzuki the same IE 70's to 90's models?
are they tough to remove and reinstall.gasket is pretty much pooched after removal i assume.if so are they still available at part suppliers?
any thing you can tell me would be great.im going to check them soon.
unfortunatly im finding wires cut everywhere on this bike.i recieved a new manual a couple of weeks ago but i have been busy doing other ****.i started the bike only once.tried again but im afraid im going burn the starter out.i wish it had a kick start.it hadnt been run for over a year maybe more.

Actually, its not that tough of a job at all..and if you're carefull and keep the gasket to the engine side, you prolly can get away with re-using it. im not sure to the 90s but 70s thru 80s are the same...but they arent the same diameter as hondas...KZs and GSs use a 29.5mm shim..everyone else uses a 29mm...if you have a tappet depressor tool its even more cake..but all in all its pretty damn easy..hardest part is the math..lol

Yeah a good walk through would be the one on this thread lol. Just go to some earlier pages. And if you need a visual check out BassCliff's page. He has a pic tutorial. Pretty easy for the most part. You just need new shims if you're clearances are out of wack. Oh and a new gasket if you trash the old one

the good thing about the feelers from Z1 is they are individual and bent on an angle (about 45 to 60 degrees)and cheap i think the whole set is $25.00 or $3.00 each.i have a set they are awsome.
