    OEM colors????

    Hi,
I have trouble to find this color paint code or something very close.
This is my bike when i bought it you can see that the color ''turned'' brown.
i plan to paint it back to its original color. And i,m not very good to match anything with colors.
    Thank you,
    Marc

If you aren't sure what the color should be try hitting your local motorcycle shop online parts catalog or try http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm as they gave me the information for my bike as well.

Most likely you ran into the same problem as me and many others here, turns out that thanks to California EPA regulations they outlawed many of the colors of paint due to the fact that there were hazardous pigments in many of the colors so the new paints are environmentally friendly, which is a good thing but it would be nice if they would have updated the color codes along with it.

The only thing I could suggest is start looking around for new model vehicles that are as close to the original color of your bike as you can get then find a painter. I got real lucky and found the exact match for the '82 1100EZ Maroon on a 2010 Dodge Ram truck.

Anyway, that's just my two cent's worth.

The problem is my body set is already another color(purple).
and all this was done before scanning the oem paint.
Its all my fault.. and i cannot match a color from my computer screen.
          Thanks,
          Marc

Not really much of a problem Marc, Chuck Hahn has the same paint on his bike. if you're not in any hurry I think I will be able to get it scanned and provide the paint formula to you.

I received a PM from Mr. Chuck Hahn which stated the following...
Dale..hard to find a scanner up here, so I decided to take a Q tip and apply some of the paint they had scanned for the 78 750 and apply it to an area at the tank filler hole under the gas cap that wasn't all sun faded. I let it dry for a few hrs in the sun to be sure the color was set and its as close a match as I think one can get. Someone had been asking about the mix code for that color red. If you can find the thread maybe you can contact them and confirm that you have the name and mix codes. They call that color FLAME RED now, but it is a technical match for the Suzuki DEEP BURGUNDY METALLIC...
I (We) have the Dupont color mix formula if you need it.

Paint can be a pain, my uncle works for Dupont and sells to body shops. I tried to get something online to check colors and he said dont even bother you need to go to a shop and check the books cause it can vary to much based on the settings on you computer, even printing varies a lot based on printers.

For me it was rattle can and brush my own decals so no worries lol

skateguy..well this is the exact mix code that was on the label from the can my painter ordered. I love this color red. Its sort of burgundy and a bit like a deep blood red as well with fine gold metalic in it..Just a sweet color!!
