'79 gs1000L turn signal problem

I have a '79 gs1000L that I ride , and am currently having problems with the turn signals. This particular model seems to have a unique turn signal setup. Has the cancelling singals similar to the 80's and up models but is slightly different , anyway I have gone through all the signals , bulbs, switch and even replaced the control unit and STILL only have signals on one side. Anyone have any similar issues with their '79 GS1000 L ? Thanks

Did you replace the control unit with a new one? or with a used one

have you checked the wiring on that side with a wiring diagram and a (d)vom?
