Start with 10w and go from there. I put 15w in mine and can't wait to see how it feels.

Yeah that pipe's nice... I like it!

I've got 15w oil in my forks and so far so good, although contemplating putting 20w in at some point to see how that goes. The Ikon fork springs have made a huge difference though.

What do you guys think....is this worth a hundred bucks.....its a 78 gs400. With no title...

I had a very productive evening due to the wife having a friend over that she hasn't seen in a while so that gave me some garage time
I got the valves adjusted right... .06 .05 .04 .04 so I was pretty happy with that...also got the valve and breather covers installed....both with new gaskets....

Also got my freshly painted clutch lever installed and connected the new cable.....

Got one of the two throttle cables installed as well.....

Nice progress! Not long now right? Or still a way to go?

As for the 400, $100 sounds good for a parts bike, not sure how easy/hard it is for you to get a title or even if that matters... as a parts bike I reckon it won't make a difference...

no not very far....basically hooking up the other throttle cable....adjusting all the cables....putting the fork springs back in and filling the fluid back up....tightening a few bolts.....then its time to start tuning it.....after that its just finishing the body work on the tank and painting the plastic body pieces....

it will be solely a parts/part out bike....so no title needed...

Well I poured a little gas in it and started......runs pretty rough but looks like the valve adjustment fixed the problem of one cylinder running at twice the temp of the other....the header pipes are now within ten degrees of each other ........ It needs a lot of fine tuning though.....its running but not well

Excellent! Running is always a good start

Well I got some time in the last day or two and made some progress.......I also learned that when ordering cables always get oem ones....but its all back together and ready to start tuning once I get the tank back on.......the tank is completed as far as the bodywork is concerned......its primered and just needs painted and rinsed out from the sandblasting......

im thinking ill wait till after im done tuning it to fully paint it...because if i have to take the tank on and off several times i dont want to risk scratching it.....but who knows...i might change my mind

Yeah I can understand that, although I've gotten to be a bit of an expert getting mine off and on without damaging the paint, and I've still got more to do once I finally get a day when I can put the Colortune to good use.
