    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Yep, Anti-Matter and Dark Matter. Very difficult to find a supplier post COVID, Anti-Matter tube to make a frame would be top of the list.
 
My Kat Foreman wants to see a table of weight savings by descending order in order to guide future weight watchers in their quest to fly to the moon.
 
With the new throttle cables and a GSX-R1100 switchblock to match the twin cable throttle tube 2/3 of the job is done. The remaining 1/3 of the work is adapting the GSX-R 1100 switchblock wiring and harness connector as the harness connector blocks are different between the GSX-R and the stock SZ Kat. After swapping to a stock SZ Kat harness connector block and sorting out the wiring it should be good to go. That is a job for my mate the Electric Wizard.

New seals and pistons today.

Cleaned the pistons with acetone to remove any contamination from the manufacturing and packaging process before installing the pistons.

Wipe pistons dry and then let them sit for awhile to ensure all the acetone has evaporated before installing.

second that, i am in awe of the weight loss achieved (and the detailed documentation), and think anyone trying to achieve similar would be very happy to read through this thread. Added to my favorites early on.

Wanted to install the carbs and new cables today however, today was just too hot and humid to do anything. 40 Celsius and 95 % humidity is not my idea of fun these days so the carbs will have to wait. Aircon and cold beers were a much better option today.

I could go for 40F right about now. We had a couple days in the negatives last week here in Ohio
 
Update for the tally, the new cables are 5 grams heavier than the old cables so running tally is now:

184,451 grams.
 
Due to the holidays and such I had not visited the thread in several weeks, but I'm glad to see you came so close to your desired weight reduction. Maybe lay off the beers a bit and the total weight of bike+rider could still hit "minus 50kg" hahaha.
It's crazy when you think about it; this big bike now weighs less than my Honda CB-1! :biggrin-new:

Lay off the beer, oh no please no! After a hot day slaving away that first cold beer is a joy that is hard to beat!
