A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

After hearing good things about this CRC2, I decided to buy some parts from them. I placed the order on 8/6 and heard nothing back. I was expecting, at the very least, a confirmation of the order. It was late in the evening on a thursday when I placed the order so I figured I'd wait. On 8/8, I sent an email, no reply. On 8/12 another email and tried to call, again no reply. Sent a text, and another the next day. Finally I get a short text back saying "Yes, we recieved your order. Your tracking # .................". No shipper name, just a number. That was an invalid number everywhere I tried. Called and texted them, and a few hours later they text back with another number. Very impersonal, just "USPS #.................., CRC2. Finally I can see a label has been created.

This is more weirdness. Yesterday there was an ETA of 8/19. Today there's no ETA.

The last time this happened was because US Customs flagged a package from Aliexpress saying it had fradulent postage and it was returned to China. I fought for months to get a refund, which I eventually got. Then, the coils actually showed up six months later. The box had been smashed and taped up. Coils, come to find out, were exact copies of Dyna Coils. Every detail, even the verbage in the listing was an exact copy from the real Dyna. What a scam! I still have, but may never use them.

I had issues with them sending the wrong spark plug caps. I had also ordered one of the dreaded 1980 lever-less petcocks. The petcock was on backorder and they were going to hold my entire order for it to come in until I got ahold of them and asked them to send what they had on hand. They did send me the correct caps and the petcock eventually. I do remember it being a little spotty on communication, but I did eventually get what I had ordered.

I've used them just a couple of times and each time I got what I ordered albeit a bit slower that necessary.

If I order from a dealership the order goes to the west coast, then back to the dealer (this was in Ne.) then mailed to me, so it usually takes 7-10 days that way. When I lived in Ne., I could drive to the dealer and pick up the order a few days earlier.

It's getting harder to get parts quickly for these old toys of ours.

@dgates1 , that's what I ordered. Along with Plug caps I also ordered plug wire and fuel hose.

@alke46 I suppose I could hit up one of the many dealer$hip$ in town.
True, it's getting harder to find parts. I've been spoiled with the 850 that hasn't needed much for a few years.

If you search eBay for K&L 18-4357 right now it looks like several suppliers have that petcock in stock now. SCI has the cheapest listing with a coupon that is good until 8/29, applied it is less that $50.
