    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

On another note. Could someone explain to me how a state came up with a one license plate policy ? Trying to make a cop's life miserable ? Constitutional right to bear only one license plate ? Budget cuts ? Inquiring minds want to know ? :confused:
 
My car came with the kit. It resides in my attic, along with lots of other useless junk.
My bike only has one plate also.

Thanks jwhelan, I have always been partial to them as well. I had an 83 750 (new) back when I was a teenager but I always liked the "lunchbucket" (headlight) Suzuki.

If I understand you right. There are lots of states who only use one plate. How does this effect one if you travel to another state ? Or come up here ?
 
Well I'll be damned ! Just googled Canadian requirements. Three provinces and two territories require only one plate. But they must comply with requirements of any other province they travel in. I imagine you are probably the same. I can't recall ever seeing a car with only one plate. But I can't say I was really looking either. I will be now, to satisfy my curiosity.;)

Anywhere I have been un the US, there are always combinations of cars from different states....many only have one front as required by thier state....I have never heard that another state here makes you follow their state law and "add" the front plate while you visit..... U.S.A. -1 , The "other North America"-0:p
 
I can't imagine it would be good for the tourist biz in either of our countries. Next time I see a cop, I'll ask him about it.

There is at least a few provinces with only one plate too.
Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Quebec and there is more I'm told too.

Why do you need two plates. A cop can only read one at a time. lol If a cop is in front of you how is he giong to read your tag anyway. Not that it's hard, but everything viewed in a rear view mirror is backward, so technically if your going to have a tag on the front it should be printed in reverse, like on the hood of a bamulance. In alot of parking spaces down here, it is illegal to back in. Its been awhile, but when I've traveled in other states I never had a problem haveing one tag.
 
I'm not advocating the use of 2 plates. I just had never seen it before. Evidently I need to open my eyes. :confused:
 
2 plates is a PITA. The front one is always getting snagged on something and ends up looking like crud. We had them in Texas.

haha...yeah I went out for a ride today and thought I would try and get the tag and I had to 3 pages back to find out what it was!:eek:
Too funny... And I remember going to Quebec for work all the time anf thought it was weird no front plate. Cops don't like it becase it makes it harder to "troll" plates in parking lots.:(

IDK is it a hijack when it's the usual player chatting around the water cooler? I might be able to get the fastener tag, but it would be on borrowed time and not sure if I can get a new tag. I'm so sore this morning from helping with the move yesterday. Everthing was huge and top quality. Example, it took four people to carry the headboard and that was with takeing off the 10" carved corner posts. I found out which muscles on my body that have gone south. It's payment for playing He-Man on the biggest items. God I'm getting old.
 
Those of us who experienced it a few months ago know what a true hijack is. He is gone for the moment, but that was a hijack.
My bike is currently down with electrical issues or I would ride to my local Fastenal store over on Shadeland Avenue. Also, I get lots from my local Ace Hardware store. (Hints for those in the game.)
 
Crate the bike up properly and these guys will ship it.

Next tag, a nursing home. This is at the Merrimack County home today where I visit an elderly lady who rode a Honda 90 everywhere in her youth. Maybe you can visit someone while getting this tag!

...or if you're not feeling compassionate, an old MGB like in the pic will do. No Midgets though as they are crappy.
