A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
Aye, there's the rub. I see lots of fairings but without the mount that fits, they are not worth very much to me when I have to fabricate the mount.Just make sure the mounting bracket fits.
On a ride like that, I'd think you'd appreciate the windjammer. Quite a bit of storage in the fairing. A frame mounted fairing, to me feels better in protection and handling. You can always pull it when you get back home if you want.I’m still contemplating my ride from Washington state to South Carolina this June or July. I have a slipstreamer on it now and would like a little more protection.

Depending on which "slipstreamer" you have, the protection might not be that much better. :-kI’m still contemplating my ride from Washington state to South Carolina this June or July. I have a slipstreamer on it now and would like a little more protection.
Installing and removing a frame-mounted fairing is possible, but not something I would want to do on any kind of regular schedule. If you DO want the option of easily removing the windshield, the EZ-Mount option on the National Cycle Plexifairing is the way to go. It will take about half an hour to install and set it up the first time. After that, you can remove it in about a minute and install it in another two or three. On a ride like that, I'd think you'd appreciate the windjammer. Quite a bit of storage in the fairing. I'd say no problem. Frame is so similar, on front it's probably identical. The Vetter bracket is also a one size fit's all kinda thing too. Plus you can mod it EZ.Anyone know if this fairing from a 78 GS1000 fits an 83 GS1100E?
