A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey, I recognize that ole girl! :-D

Thanks for posting up the pic, PJ! She needs a few little things yet (like tinkering with the mid pipe and can to get it mounted just the way I want it...), and the seat needs to be redone. Think I am gonna go the Sargent Cycle route. Need some new mirrors and grips. Need to redo the front fender and get the little doohickey that holds the speedo cable along side the front fender, so I can get rid of the zip tie that holds it in place now!

Thanks Mike!

Here are a couple more..

My bike is in the shop for 7-10 days, were waiting on a diaphragm for one of the carb's. Man I want to ride, the weather is prefect.

Hey, zuzu, nice bike! Where did you get those engine guards? I've never seen any like that.

I just recently got the bike from my brother. He purchased it new and did all the Mod's. The receipt says (Rack Factory case Guards) next time I talk to him I will ask him if there still available.
Thanks Guys,

Yes it looks good, But I want to be riding it.\\:D/

Reno....Your 85 GS1150E is sure sweet looking...!

One from India

One from India

not much of modification trying to get to original state.

IsleofMan,

What did those rearsets come off of? I am interested in getting rid of my pegs for a set off a late model gixxer; I do not want to drill or modify the frame....just make an adapter plate of some sort.....

Thanks!

Damn it guys. I had almost convinced myself to sell the bikes, and get a jeep (so I don't have to give up my toys when the kids eventually come), and then I find this thread. I also have a cousin with a cb750, no front end that has my name on it, if I go get it, AND I gots an idea for a killer streetfighter rattling around in my head. At least, my mind's eye thinks its killer. Now, I wanna go over there today, and pick up another project...

Seriously nice bikes here. I don't know how anyone would rather ride a plastic "look at me" bike when for the same amount of money you could have built a bike like those preceeding. Course, I have a look at me cruiser, but my GS is not done yet, so that gets me off the hook, right :)

What do kids have to do with giving up toys? They are a great excuse to buy MORE toys, not get rid of some...:-D

Agreed. Everyone I know that has a bike and kids have kids that think that Daddy's bike is cool. Plus, with the extra expense of kids, the fuel economy is a major plus. Good luck finding a Jeep that gets 30+ miles to the gallon.....my nephew's Grand Cherokee gets 11, and it's only got 33" tires, 4" lift, stock everything else. Matter of fact, of my sister's three kids, two have owned bikes and want another one. I don't have kids myself, but all of my nephews and nieces ooh and aah over my bike, and it's not anywhere near finished. As far as the "danger" factor goes, I've been in four bike accidents and two car accidents. I was injured far worse in the car accidents. I've never understood the mentality of "I've gotta get rid of the bike because I've got kids". Sure, you need something to haul the family around in, but you'd be amazed at how many guys don't mind a minivan as long as they have a bike to ride to work on. Cheap gas, cheap insurance (try insuring an Explorer for $35 a year), it's the perfect "additional vehicle". Sure, you have to do maintenance, and parts can be pricey, but so are car parts. Wanna see insane? $400 for a motor mount on our old Camry.

Keep the bike, use the money you save on gas and insurance to buy a nice grocery getter, and enjoy the best of both worlds. Now, if your grocery getter just happens to have four wheel drive......\\:D/
