A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Since some people have expressed interest in the bolt kit I used, here's the link to their store:

http://stores.ebay.com/Stainless-Cycle

If they don't list a kit for your bike, email them and they'll put one up for you. I don't have any affiliation with this company, I've just used their bolt kit and was highly impressed with it. Most complete kit I've found, reasonable price, and great service. $35 for the kit for my GS750EX, individually through Gardner-Wescott would have been over $170 (I was bored one afternoon and had a calculator handy).

Like I said, the stainless header bolts are NOT included, but I found them locally at a bolt shop for $5, washers included. 8mm x 1.25, not sure about the length.

USE ANTI-SEIZE ON ANY STAINLESS BOLT GOING INTO ALUMINUM!!!!!!

Very cool! Like the look of the pipes too....straight through, or do you have a token muffler in there somewhere....I rode a Honda 350 Twin with pipes like that once...sounded neat, but LOUD once you got on the gas8-[.

Tony.

those are straight through, and way loud too

waiting for my vh right now

Well.....

For starters, you could always take an otherwise nondescript "E"....

And then spend a couple of years scouring the internet to find maintenance and upgrade parts in order to build your own (pseudo)ES, then spend about 80 hours on a rattlecan "Hell, how hard can this be???" paintjob....

Only to have second gear go out on you within weeks of getting her back together....

She doesn't look near as purty sitting in my garage on a rear stand with no engine. Especially parked next to the VFR that I've been riding the wheels off of - you know, the bike I bought just to "hold me over" while I fixed Ol' Blue....

Meh. Here's a larger version of my sig. Geebus I need to get this thing back together.

Man, I have got to get a set of those rims on my bike! Those six-spokes look so much better than the "star" rims!

Guess I'd better get a starter clutch for it first.....

Pffft. Necessities. Who ever had any fun buying the necessities???

Just build a ramp you can park her on so you can bump-start her whenever you want to go for a ride - then use the money you saved for some rims!!!
