A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Agreed. Everyone I know that has a bike and kids have kids that think that Daddy's bike is cool. Plus, with the extra expense of kids, the fuel economy is a major plus. Good luck finding a Jeep that gets 30+ miles to the gallon.....my nephew's Grand Cherokee gets 11, and it's only got 33" tires, 4" lift, stock everything else. Matter of fact, of my sister's three kids, two have owned bikes and want another one. I don't have kids myself, but all of my nephews and nieces ooh and aah over my bike, and it's not anywhere near finished. As far as the "danger" factor goes, I've been in four bike accidents and two car accidents. I was injured far worse in the car accidents. I've never understood the mentality of "I've gotta get rid of the bike because I've got kids". Sure, you need something to haul the family around in, but you'd be amazed at how many guys don't mind a minivan as long as they have a bike to ride to work on. Cheap gas, cheap insurance (try insuring an Explorer for $35 a year), it's the perfect "additional vehicle". Sure, you have to do maintenance, and parts can be pricey, but so are car parts. Wanna see insane? $400 for a motor mount on our old Camry.

Keep the bike, use the money you save on gas and insurance to buy a nice grocery getter, and enjoy the best of both worlds. Now, if your grocery getter just happens to have four wheel drive......\\:D/

Y'all are right, but, the fact of the matter is, that the risk of serious injury is greater on a motorcycle than in a car. I am not worried about the financial aspects of motorcycle ownership, with kids. My wife and I just decided that when the kids come, the bikes go. I feel its selfish to keep my motorcycles, which is my hobby (and shes not all that into it), and run the risk of forcing her to raise kids all by herself. Yes, I know that I can die in a car accident to, but, really, I believe I am a less risk of serious injury in my 3 1/2 Ton Avalanche vs. my 1/2 ton motorcycle. Oh, and my grocery getter does have 4WD. One of the perks of living in the snow belt. :) Now, on with the pictures. This is not the place for this discussion

My 79 550 W.I.P. going to be somewhat of a bobber. Also has the 18" front. Clip ons and Savage shocks for 2'' lower in rear. Attempting to make seat pan and exhaust.
Thats nearly the same stance on my 750 at the moment...nice :)
