    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Haha. Its the stock tank(after a bit of banging with a hammer) on a 1977 gs 400

cavilry, How does it run?
It has to run at least as good if not better than it looks.

Looks good!

It runs great! I got it for free cause no one could get it to run but now I starts first kick and runs pretty strong. The only problem is it runs a little rich and backfires when cold

Would this be considered "custom"?
An 80 L with an 83 ED motor?

Pretty cool....ditch the single mirror for some bar-end mirrors & that should look sweet, IMHO. Surprised you got it to run without any air filters.....probably even more surprised that it runs rich, unless you've already played with the jetting.:)

Tony.

ya, it runs great...i was surprised too. I am about to order some air filters from z1. As far as the carbs....I have no idea what people have done to it before me.

Not mine, but worthy of showing off for sure. Note the lack of down tubes... The panel work is the frame
This chopper was made by Kiwi Steve Roberts (prolly in the early to mid 80's) for someone called Earl G. I'm picking that Earl G is probably an American (not a common name over this way). Has anyone seen this in the flesh?

Wow, cannot say I have seen anything like that. What actually caught my eye was the stator cover on the right side of the engine? Someone please explain.

Toilets swirl the other way in OZ.

Why can't the stator cover be on the right side in OZ. :p

Int-rest-in scooter none the least.

definetly not the best looking bike on here. but i figured i would throw mine in. its an 81 850g. no pics of when i got it but it was not running and looked like it had sat in an open shed for 5 years..... because it did. mods include coil relay mod, drag bars, bar end mirrors, new turn signals (stock signals were no where to be found). replaced all lights and fuses. got rid of stock gauge pod thingy and put a 140mph spedo and tech with fuel gauge on. quick turn throttle. fiberglass seat pan with a little padding that i recovered, not the best job but it works. newish exhaust, actually didnt require rejetting. and paint is black over some kinda teal color then buffed till the teal came through in some spots. almost a patina look. cant remember what grips i used. the pvc fork spring mod. im sure i forgot a bunch of things.
