A Note From The Owner...
Hi, I'm Walter from Venice, Italy. This is my 1980 GS1000G. It was given to me as a gift in 2000, and it chose me! Since then, I've ridden almost 50,000 km, and it has about 107,000 km on it. I've only done top gaskets, shims, and routine maintenance on the engine. The electrical system has some rusted parts, I modified the coils, the voltmeter, replaced the fuse box, and little else. The bodywork is repainted, the chrome is its own, and I've added higher handlebars.
I use it for a few evening rides after work, with friends, and for trips to the Dolomites in the Veneto-Trentino region.
This bike has fantastic progression and is very easy to handle. I love it.
